What a MEGA weekend!
Over 1500 Cub Scouts gathered at Skreens Park Activity Centre this weekend for an exciting, adventurous and fun filled weekend for Mega Camp 2015.
The Cubs from every corner of Essex were blast off into a Space themed journey through a glitzy time portal and then were welcomed to their three Sub camps; Time Lords, Storm Troopers and Space Rangers. The site looked spectacular as space paraphernalia adored the growing site, the Sub camp gateways certainly made an impressive entrance to Mega Camp 2015. A group staying on Time …

Friday 13th March saw twenty six 1st Great Bentley Cubs descend on Go Bananas in Colchester. Upon arrival the youngsters picked their sleeping location, most of the “Tiny Town” was available to them so we had clubs sleeping in houses, climbing frame, and in the open. The leaders were consigned to sleeping “under the sea”. Friday night was full of games and crafts provided by the friendly Go Bananas staff followed by snacks and hot chocolate. Friday 14th March saw many of the 1st Great Bentley Cub Scout attend their first camp of the year. The event started at 730pm with a 2hr night hike across muddy fields surrounding the HQ. After a good nights sleep (ok a little sleep) the Satruday was spent making camp fire to cook a lunch of jacket potatos and chocolate bananas. There afternoon was spent practising tent erection, and playing games. Sunday was a little more relaxed. After packing the equipment away more games were played and lunch consumed.
New term
We start back at Beavers/ Scouts on Monday 6th January, 2014 and Cubs on Tuesday 7th January, 2014. All meetings remain the same at the Scout Hut Beavers 6-7pm, Scouts 7:15-9pm and Cubs 6:30- 7:45pm. Please make sure you bring your child into the hut for all sections and register with their leader on arrival each week. Please could parents also collect their child from the hut, we have had incidents last term where a parent has come to collect their child and the child has already left. We …
