The event is open to Explorer Scouts and Explorer Section Leaders in Essex and promises to be a fantastic celebration of the past ten years of Explorer Scouts.
So what can I expect?

Congratulations to both teams who entered The Essex County Marathon.
The County Marathon is a two-day self-sufficient team backpacking and overnight camping competition, open to Explorer Scouts, Scout Network, Leaders & Active Support Members. Teams can be from 4 to 6 people.
The Explorers (Novice) came 8th out of 22 teams – so a really good effort.
The Leaders (Experienced) also came 8th, but out of only 10 teams – so not quite so impressive 🙂

Hi All,
We will be meeting at 2pm at the Scout Hut tomorrow afternoon.
We will then be finishing at around 5pm at the Pub in St Osyth Heath (Heath Road), looking on Google it is called the Beehive.
As discussed on Tuesday you will need to bring the rucksack you will be using for the Marathon packed to a representative weight. The idea of this is to get you used to the pack before the event.

Hi All,
I am sending this mail to you all as while I know you are not all taking part in the Marathan a lot of you showed interest in the practice walk.
We will be meeting at 2pm on Saturday and finishing around 5pm, you will need to arrive on time for this so that we can get going and get as much done as possible in the time available, if the time causes issues then please let me know.
I have not yet nailed down a starting and finishing point but …
We have spoken about the Essex Scout County Marathon a number of times in the past. The time is now upon us that we need to get booked so I really need to know one way or the other with regards to each of you attending or not, and also any teams we may be entering.
The cost for the event is £25 per person, there will then be the cost of food and travel on top of this. Travel will be dependent upon then number of you going and the …

We start back at Beavers/ Scouts on Monday 10th September and Cubs on Tuesday 11th September. All meetings remain the same at the Scout Hut Beavers 6-7pm, Scouts 7:15-9pm and Cubs 6:30- 7:45pm.
